The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has wished Madina Member of Parliament, Dr Francis-Xavier Sosu, well after he took ill while addressing students at the institution.
The incident occurred during the Student Representative Council (SRC) Leadership Forum, where Dr Sosu had been invited to share his experience and engage with students.
GIMPA said it was concerned when the MP became unwell during his address and commended its management, SRC executives and medical staff for responding promptly to the situation.
The institution has since welcomed confirmation from Dr Sosu’s office that he has received the necessary medical attention.
GIMPA also expressed gratitude to Dr Sosu for taking the time to share his experience with students as part of the leadership forum.
The institution urged members of the public to rely on official information from the MP’s office concerning his health and to avoid unverified reports surrounding the incident.
Dr Sosu appeared to lose his balance while speaking and was quickly supported by people nearby before being assisted out of the auditorium.
His office subsequently assured the public that the Madina MP was doing well and had received medical attention.
