Dancehall king Shatta Wale has taken a trip down memory lane, recalling the first time he visited Sarkodie’s house and the memorable advice he received from the rapper’s mother.
Shatta said his visit came at a time when he and Sarkodie were having issues, particularly over money, and he had been called to help settle their differences.
According to Shatta Wale, he went to Sarkodie’s house with the intention of resolving the matter, but the meeting took an unexpected turn when Sarkodie introduced him to his mother.
Rather than focusing on the disagreement between the two artistes, Sarkodie’s mother offered them advice about supporting one another and taking care of each other as they built their careers.
“The first day I went to Sarkodie’s house, he introduced me to his mother. His mother told me that with the work we were doing, we should all support and take care of each other. I should protect him and he should protect me. The only problem we had was money, and that was all,” Shatta Wale recalled.
The advice, he said, stayed with him and he pledged to follow it.
Years later, Shatta Wale believes the relationship between the them has matured, particularly in how they handle disagreements.
He said they have gradually learned how to deal with their issues without allowing it to destroy the bond they have built over the years.
The recollection comes amid renewed conversations about unity among Ghanaian musicians, with Shatta Wale recently weighing into the latest tensions involving Sarkodie and Stonebwoy.
