The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect over the murder of Dr Jesse Amuah and his wife, Elizabeth Esi Amuah, who went missing in Accra in March 2026.
Police identified the suspect as Abraham Awundok, who allegedly fled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after the couple’s death. He reportedly worked as an errand boy for the couple.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno announced the development at a press briefing, saying investigations established that the Amuahs had been murdered after being reported missing.
He said collaboration between the Ghana Police Service and Interpol led to Awundok’s deportation from Dubai to Ghana, where officers arrested him on arrival.
The Police described the arrest as part of major breakthroughs in ongoing investigations into several murder and armed robbery cases.
