The Asutifi North District Zoomlion Manager, Patrick Tetteh, has urged the general public to keep their surroundings clean and dispose of refuse properly.

Speaking to the media during a fumigation, disinfection and disinfestation exercise at Kenyasi, aimed at curbing disease spread and promoting public health, he urged residents to dispose of their waste in designated refuse containers instead of dumping it into gutters.

He cautioned that indiscriminate disposal of waste could choke gutters and create breeding grounds for mosquitoes, which can contribute to the spread of malaria.

Mr Tetteh added that choked gutters could also result in flooding, particularly during the rainy season.

Meanwhile, the Ahafo Regional Human Resources Officer of Zoomlion, Dennis Addae, said keeping the environment clean is one of Zoomlion’s mandates.

He explained that the ongoing exercise forms part of the company’s efforts to maintain a clean and healthy environment by fumigating, disinfecting and disinfesting public places.

He encouraged the public to support the exercise by maintaining proper sanitation practices in their communities.
