The Legon Sports Stadium in Accra has been officially announced as the venue for the 2026 Ghana-Jamaica Homecoming Festival.

The two-day cultural celebration is scheduled for December 4 and 5, 2026, and will bring together Ghanaians, Jamaicans and members of the African diaspora to celebrate the longstanding historical and cultural ties between the two countries.

The festival is expected to combine entertainment with cultural exchange, business and heritage activities, with organisers positioning it as a platform to strengthen Ghana-Jamaica relations.

Activities lined up include music concerts, dance showcases, art exhibitions, heritage tours, culinary fairs, business summits and commerce conversations.

The event will open with a traditional libation and drumming performance, followed by a symbolic flag-raising ceremony featuring the flags of Ghana and Jamaica.

Cultural ambassadors, musicians and dancers from both countries are also expected to take part in a colourful procession to officially commence the celebrations.

Organisers say the festival will provide an opportunity to celebrate shared ancestry while creating avenues for deeper cooperation in culture, tourism and commerce.

With the Legon Sports Stadium now confirmed as the host venue, attention turns to preparations for what organisers describe as a major celebration of the enduring Ghana-Jamaica connection.
