Emotional scenes as Kumawood actor Kwakye Oboubi’s family marks one week observance

It was a day filled with heavy emotions as family and sympathizers of late Kumawood actor Kwadwo Kwakye Obuobi famed Sir Rostomo gathered to mark his one-week observance.

The usually lively Abuakwa Manhyia Methodist JHS was subdued on Thursday, August 6, 2026, as actors and loved ones came together to honour the life of the beloved actor.

Among those who joined the mourning was fellow Kumawood actors Nana Gyasi and Nchankonta, who were present to pay his respects and stand with the bereaved family during the difficult moment.

The atmosphere turned emotional as Sir Rostomo’s mother and siblings took turns paying heartfelt tributes to the actor.

For his immediate family, the reality of his absence was difficult to bear. His widow and children were seen overwhelmed with grief as they mourned the man they described as a cherished part of their lives.

Sir Rostomo has been remembered by colleagues and fans as a talented actor whose work brought entertainment and laughter to many homes.
