MTN Ghana has marked its 30th anniversary with a media engagement in Sunyani, bringing together editors and journalists from the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions to strengthen collaboration with the media while outlining measures to improve customer experience and reward loyal subscribers.
The engagement formed part of activities commemorating the telecommunications company’s three decades of operations in Ghana and provided a platform for management to address concerns raised by customers, particularly on data usage, mobile security and service delivery.
Speaking at the event, Senior Manager for Customer Experience Planning and Enablement, Dr. Lawrence Akosem said customer satisfaction remains at the heart of MTN Ghana’s operations.

He noted that the company’s 30th anniversary presents an opportunity to appreciate customers for their loyalty through a series of reward initiatives while continuously enhancing the quality of services offered.
He addressed growing concerns over the rapid depletion of mobile data, explaining that in many cases the issue is caused by applications running in the background without the knowledge of users.
He advised subscribers to regularly review application permissions, disable unnecessary background data usage, and download applications only from trusted sources to minimise excessive data consumption and enhance the security of their mobile devices.
He assured customers that MTN Ghana remains committed to educating users on responsible digital practices while investing in technologies that improve service reliability.
Also addressing the gathering, Obed Adu-Amankwaah, Area Sales Manager for the Ashanti, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions, underscored the critical role of the media in promoting customer awareness and supporting the company’s engagement with the public.

He described the media as a key partner in educating customers on MTN’s products and services, saying feedback from journalists helps the company respond more effectively to the needs and concerns of subscribers.

The engagement also provided an interactive platform for journalists to share concerns gathered from customers across the three regions and engage directly with MTN Ghana’s management on issues affecting service delivery.
MTN Ghana says it will continue to strengthen its relationship with the media while prioritising customer satisfaction as it celebrates 30 years of connecting people and businesses across the country.
