A suspected robber has been arrested after a dramatic chase through Tema Community 5 following the alleged robbery of a bank customer.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects allegedly trailed the victim after a banking transaction before snatching a large sum of money and fleeing the scene in a Toyota RAV4.
Their escape, however, was cut short when the vehicle reportedly crashed into a tree during the pursuit.
The crash led to the arrest of one of the suspects, while the remaining occupants reportedly abandoned the vehicle, escaped on foot and made away with the stolen cash.
Residents who witnessed the incident gathered at the scene as security personnel moved in to secure the area and apprehend the suspect.
The arrested suspect has since been taken into custody to assist with investigations, while efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects and recover the stolen money.
The incident has heightened concerns over attacks targeting bank customers, with the public being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
