Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has pledged to build what he describes as one of the most sophisticated communications architectures in the party’s history if elected.
Mr. Aboagye said the NPP needs a communications leader who understands Ghana’s political landscape, can anticipate the strategies of political opponents and position the party effectively ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, he said his decision to contest the position came after careful reflection, despite initially having no intention of entering the race.
“We need a communications director that understands the terrain and thinks into the head of the opponent, and that is me. Based on that, I am able to decide the strategies and systems that we can work with, and that’s why I have decided to contest even though I initially didn’t want to,” he said.
According to him, the party requires inspiration and charismatic leadership to revitalise its communications machinery following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
“At this point in time, our party needs inspiration and a leader with charisma that can drive the communications architecture to victory in 2028, and I promise the party that we will build one of the most sophisticated communications architectures this country has ever seen,” he stated.
Mr. Aboagye outlined what he described as the three pillars of his communications strategy: facts, fire and strategy.
“We stand by three things: facts, fire and strategy. Ghanaian voters are very discerning, so they need grounded facts and evidence to make their decisions. The fire and passion are what speak to the hearts of voters, while strategy is what enables you to outwit your opponent,” he explained.
He said his experience of both electoral victories and defeats has equipped him with a clear understanding of the gaps within the party’s communications structure and the reforms needed to strengthen it.
“I have seen losses and wins, so I know where the gaps are and where we need to work. That’s why I believe this is the time to help the party. We are going to build from the ground up, and we will do this together,” he added.
The NPP is expected to elect new national executives as part of its preparations to reorganise the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
