For nearly four decades, Daughters of Glorious Jesus have remained one of the few music groups in Ghana to withstand the test of time without public feuds, breakups or solo ambitions.

Now, the celebrated gospel trio has revealed the secret behind their remarkable 37-year journey, saying the thought of separating has never crossed their minds.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Hitz Praise Zone, the award-winning group said they have always seen themselves as sisters first before musicians, a bond they believe has kept them united through the years.

According to the trio, their music ministry was never designed for individual glory but for a shared purpose ordained by God.

They explained that they have never entertained the idea of pursuing solo careers because they believe the gift they received was meant to be nurtured collectively, not individually.

The group also attributed their longevity to the deep respect they have for one another’s talents, revealing that there has never been room for rivalry or competition within the group.

Instead of trying to outshine one another, they said each member focuses on playing her role while celebrating the strengths the others bring, creating the harmony that has become their trademark.

For them, unity, love and selflessness have been the pillars that have sustained the group through changing trends in the music industry and kept them relevant to generations of gospel music lovers.

Formed in 1989, Daughters of Glorious Jesus, made up of Cynthia Appiadu, Edna Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah, have built an enviable legacy in Ghana’s gospel music scene.

As many music groups struggle to survive the pressures of fame and individual ambitions, Daughters of Glorious Jesus say their greatest achievement is not just the songs they have recorded, but the fact that after 37 years, they are still walking the journey together.
