2026 WC: Queiroz makes four changes as Ghana name strong XI for Colombia clash

Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has made four changes to his starting line-up for the Black Stars’ FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash against Colombia at the Kansas City Stadium on Friday night.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi returns in goal after recovering from the injury he sustained during Ghana’s opening Group L match against Panama.

The St. Gallen goalkeeper missed the subsequent games against England and Croatia, with Benjamin Asare deputising between the posts.

In defence, Jerome Opoku replaces Jonas Adjetey and will partner with Derrick Luckassen at the heart of the backline.

Gideon Mensah and Marvin Senaya retain their places at left and right back, respectively.

Caleb Yirenkyi also returns to the starting XI, taking the place of Elisha Owusu in midfield. The youngster will line up alongside Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo in a three-man midfield.

Further forward, Inaki Williams is restored to the attack in place of Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The experienced forward will join captain Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo in Ghana’s front three as the Black Stars seek a place in the last 16.
