Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has called on his teammates to be more decisive in front of goal as Ghana prepare for their Round of 32 clash with Colombia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana advanced from Group L in third place after a 1-0 victory over Panama, a goalless draw with England, and a 2-1 defeat to Croatia, setting up a knockout tie with the South American side.
Colombia topped Group K with seven points from three matches and enter the last-32 stage unbeaten.
Speaking to Flashscore after the loss to Croatia, Ayew stressed the need for focus as the stakes rise in the tournament.
“I have told the guys that we need to stay focused and do our best because the next game will be different—no second chance,” he said.
The match will be the first competitive meeting between Ghana and Colombia at any level, with kick-off scheduled for 01:30 GMT on Saturday, July 4.
It also marks Ghana’s first appearance in a World Cup knockout stage since their quarter-final exit to Uruguay in 2010.
