The Passport Office has dismissed as false claims circulating on social media suggesting that Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui has been issued a service or diplomatic passport.
According to the Office, the actress holds and uses a standard Ghanaian ordinary passport like every other citizen, and has not been granted any special category of travel document.
The clarification comes after a social media post alleged that the actress had benefited from preferential treatment in the issuance of a diplomatic passport, sparking debate online.
The post further claimed that individuals who supported political efforts had been sidelined while celebrities were allegedly being favoured with such privileges.
However, the Passport Office has described the claims as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them entirely.
It also cautioned against the spread of unverified information capable of causing public misunderstanding, stressing that all passport issuance processes follow strict official guidelines.
The Office further encouraged citizens to rely on verified sources and official communication channels for accurate information regarding passport services and classifications.
