Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo insists Ghana are fully focused on securing qualification and are not looking beyond their decisive Group L clash against Croatia at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will face the European side on Saturday at the Philadelphia Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 GMT.
Ghana need at least a draw to book a place in the Round of 32 of the tournament being staged in North America.
Speaking at the official pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial encounter, Semenyo stressed that the team’s immediate priority is sealing qualification before thinking about the latter stages of the competition.
“We are not trying to get ahead of ourselves. The game against Croatia is an important game that solidifies our qualification,” the Manchester City forward said.
“I think every player is ambitious, and everyone wants to push and get through to the next round of the competition and see what happens,” Semenyo added.
The four-time African champions are aiming to reach the knockout stage of the World Cup for the first time since their historic run to the quarter-finals at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
