General Secretary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has spoken about his popularity and long-standing service within the party, insisting that he is well known across party structures due to his years of active involvement.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, he said he has served the party consistently since 2005 in various capacities.

“I have held party positions since 2005. Twenty-one years frontline, not that I am behind. I have work to show,” he said.

He noted that his political journey includes service both locally and abroad, including executive roles within the party.

“I was an elected executive in the UK. I have always held frontline positions, so anyone who says they don’t know me is probably new,” he stated.

Mr Antwi also highlighted his experience as a Member of Parliament, deputy minister, and member of key party committees.

“I have been an MP for the party, a deputy minister, and a member of the National Council. I have also served on campaign committees in the Ashanti Region twice,” he explained.

He argued that his record makes it difficult for anyone within the party to claim ignorance of his identity or contributions.

“So when you say people don’t know me, it means maybe they just dislike me,” he added.

He further emphasised his family’s long-standing involvement in the party, saying their contribution dates back to the party’s early foundations.

“We are UP people, so you cannot say you don’t know me. My father was also very instrumental in the party. We started from somewhere to where we are today,” he said.
