Former Subin MP, Eugene Boakye Antwi has declared that his vision is to become the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, with his ultimate goal to help rebuild and position the party for victory in the 2028 general elections with the flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as President.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr. Antwi said his ambition goes beyond winning an internal party position and is centred on restoring unity within the party and strengthening its structures from the grassroots level.
“My vision is to become NPP General Secretary and also ensure that my party comes into power with Dr. Bawumia as President in 2028,” he stated.
According to him, the NPP’s path back to power depends on its ability to heal divisions and reconnect with its grassroots base.
“My blueprint is the UNITE Agenda. It is to help rebuild the party from the polling station level and unite all sectors of the party,” he explained.
Mr. Antwi stressed that all efforts currently being undertaken within the party must be directed towards one objective—electoral victory in 2028.
“The essence of all we are doing is to secure victory in 2028. If not, it will be a fruitless venture,” he said.
He argued that the office of General Secretary plays a pivotal role in shaping the party’s direction, decision-making and organisational effectiveness.

“The role of General Secretary is central to shaping both the decisions and direction of the NPP,” he noted.
Mr. Antwi said his UNITE Agenda represents a practical roadmap for repositioning the party ahead of the next election cycle. The agenda focuses on uniting party members, nurturing the grassroots, innovating party operations, training leaders and expanding the party’s appeal across the country.
He further highlighted the importance of the party’s External Branches, describing them as key partners in driving reforms and strengthening the NPP’s organisational base.
According to him, the overseas branches have consistently contributed to the party’s growth and will continue to play an important role in efforts to rebuild and return the NPP to power.
Mr. Antwi expressed confidence that with unity, effective organisation and a renewed focus on grassroots mobilisation, the NPP can regain the confidence of Ghanaians and secure victory in the 2028 polls.
