The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has begun temporary repair works on a flood-damaged stretch of road at Dansoman Junction, filling potholes with sand and stones to restore access for motorists while a permanent solution is pursued.
The intervention follows recent flooding that weakened sections of the road, disrupting vehicular movement and causing significant inconvenience to commuters on the busy route.
Sources at the Assembly said drainage infrastructure beneath the road has been compromised, contributing to recurring flooding and the rapid deterioration of the road surface.

While plans have been developed to address the underlying drainage challenges and reconstruct the affected section, funding for the project is yet to be secured. Authorities say the ongoing repairs are intended to provide temporary relief and ensure safer movement for road users in the meantime.
