The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has continued his working visit to the Volta Region with a series of engagements aimed at strengthening security collaboration and assessing key infrastructure projects under the Ministry.
As part of the tour, the Minister paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and elders of the Asogli Traditional Area in Ho, where he commended the traditional authorities for their contributions to peace, security and development in the region.

He stressed the importance of sustained cooperation between traditional leaders and security agencies in maintaining law and order and addressing emerging security challenges.
According to the Minister, traditional authorities remain key partners in efforts to preserve the peace and stability for which the Volta Region is widely known.

Mr. Muntaka also inspected the ongoing Ghana Immigration Service Regional Headquarters project in Ho, where he received updates on the progress of work.
He urged contractors to ensure the timely completion of the project while adhering to approved standards, noting that the facility would strengthen the operational capacity of the Ghana Immigration Service and improve service delivery when completed.

The Interior Minister further visited the Ho Central Prison, where he interacted with prison officers and inmates and assessed conditions at the correctional facility.
The visit enabled him to gain first-hand insight into challenges facing the prison, including infrastructure and welfare concerns, while exploring ways to enhance rehabilitation programmes for inmates.

Mr. Muntaka reiterated government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s security and correctional institutions to ensure they are adequately resourced to effectively carry out their mandates.
The Volta Region tour forms part of the Minister’s nationwide engagements with stakeholders and agencies under the Ministry of the Interior aimed at improving institutional performance, enhancing security and supporting national development.
