Former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Kojo Adu Asare, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to several individuals who supported him throughout his six-year battle with kidney disease.

Speaking on Ekosiisen, Kojo Adu-Asare recounted his difficult journey and acknowledged people from across the political divide who stood by him during one of the most challenging periods of his life.

Among those he singled out was Albert Kwadwo Twum Boafo, whom he praised for his unwavering support and commitment.

According to Kojo Adu-Asare, the Financial Intelligence Centre CEO assured him of assistance when he first informed him about his need for a kidney transplant and fulfilled that promise when the need arose.

“My brother, Kwadwo Twum Boafo, who is the CEO of the Financial Intelligence Centre, assured me that once we reached the stage where I needed help, I should let him know. When the time came, he did everything he could,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to Kwasi Amoako-Atta, describing him as a dependable and supportive person throughout his health journey.

Kojo Adu-Asare further thanked Julius Debrah and Cassiel Ato Forson for their support, saying their assistance would always be remembered.

While recounting the physical, emotional and financial challenges of living with kidney disease, he urged Ghanaians to seek proper medical treatment instead of depending on unverified herbal remedies.

According to him, kidney disease becomes difficult to reverse once it reaches advanced stages and should not be taken lightly.

He warned that reliance on unproven treatments could worsen conditions and eventually lead patients to emergency situations.
