Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has pledged to help create employment opportunities for young people if elected to lead the party.
According to him, an NPP administration led by Mahamudu Bawumia in 2028, combined with his leadership as National Chairman, would improve job opportunities for graduates and unemployed youth across the country.
Speaking to members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) and students of the University of Ghana Business School on Saturday, May 16, 2026, Chairman Wontumi said his leadership would contribute to addressing Ghana’s unemployment challenges.
“This is what I have to say. If you make me the National Chairman and Dr Bawumia becomes the president in 2028, God will use me to create jobs in this country,” he said.
He further stated that graduates and job seekers across the country would benefit from opportunities under such leadership.
“All your relatives who graduated and are also looking for jobs to do, they will also get work to do because of you,” he added.
Chairman Wontumi is among several individuals positioning themselves ahead of the NPP’s internal leadership contest as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
