The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) has launched a new mentorship initiative dubbed the Juliet Asante Mentorship Series, aimed at creating a space for personal growth, reflection, and transformation.

The programme, led by Ghanaian filmmaker and creative entrepreneur Juliet Asante, is designed as an intentional and intimate gathering for individuals who are building, questioning, and seeking deeper meaning in their personal and professional lives.

Speaking on the initiative, Juliet Asante described the platform as different from traditional learning spaces, emphasising honest engagement and self-discovery.

“This is not a masterclass. This is a circle,” she said.

Drawing from her journey across film, entrepreneurship, policy, and education, she highlighted the experiences that shaped the idea behind the initiative.

“I have lived many lives in one lifetime,” she shared.

She stressed that transformation does not happen in traditional settings alone, but in spaces where people are willing to be open and authentic.

“Real transformation does not happen in lectures. It happens in honest spaces, where we stop performing and start revealing,” she stated.

The mentorship series will focus on three core pillars: film as a tool for storytelling and truth, creativity as a force for reinvention across different fields, and life as the foundation that shapes everything individuals build.

Organisers indicate that the initiative is targeted at individuals ready to think deeply, ask questions and grow beyond their current limits.

The first session, scheduled for June 4, 2026, will be limited to 50 participants to ensure a more engaging and personal experience.

Juliet Asante further pointed out that the programme is not designed for those seeking quick answers, but for individuals prepared to be challenged and evolve.

“If you are looking for easy answers, this may not be for you. If you are ready to engage, be challenged, and evolve, you are welcome,” she added.

The initiative forms part of BSIFF’s broader effort to extend its impact beyond film into personal development and creative empowerment. Got it.
