The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party supporters to unite behind the government of President John Dramani Mahama to ensure the success of the administration and protect the image of the party.

According to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, members of the NDC must remain committed to supporting the government’s agenda in order to help deliver on its promises to Ghanaians.

He stressed that the fortunes of the Mahama administration are closely tied to the image and credibility of the NDC and its supporters.

Speaking during his “Thank You Tour” in the East Gonja Constituency on Thursday, May 14, Mr. Asiedu Nketia cautioned party faithful against engaging in acts that could undermine the government’s efforts.

“Our party members who supported the party to power, we have three years to the end of the tenure of the Mahama government. We need to support the government to succeed,” he stated.

He emphasised that any failure of the administration would affect not only President Mahama but the entire party.

“If Mahama fails, the embarrassment will be on all of us; Mahama will not only take the fall, but all of us. We need to support the government’s agenda with all our strength for it to succeed for the betterment of the people,” he added.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia further urged party supporters to uphold discipline, unity, and cooperation, describing these as essential to the success of the government over the next three years.

He also encouraged members of the NDC to motivate one another and work collectively toward fulfilling the expectations of Ghanaians while safeguarding the party’s image.
