Agogo Chiefs officially inform Interior Minister of Nana Akuoko Sarpong’s passing

A delegation from the Asante Agogo Traditional Area has officially informed the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, of the passing of the Omanhene of Asante Akyem Agogo, Nana Akuoko Sarpong.

The late chief also served as Ghana’s Minister for the Interior between 1991 and 1992.

The delegation, led by Nana Bediako Brogya Sarpong, paid a courtesy call on the Minister at his office in Accra to formally communicate the news on behalf of the traditional authorities and family.

Receiving the delegation, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak thanked the chiefs and elders for officially informing the Ministry about the death of the former Interior Minister.

He extended the Ministry’s condolences to the bereaved family and assured the delegation of the Ministry’s support throughout the funeral and related activities.

The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, described the late Nana Akuoko Sarpong as an astute politician and statesman who served Ghana with dedication and distinction.

The delegation also expressed appreciation to the Minister and the Ministry for the warm reception and support extended to them.
