Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, has warned individuals who attack firefighters during emergency operations to desist, stressing that newly trained Fire Police personnel will now deal with offenders.

Her warning came during the passing-out ceremony of 50 personnel who completed a three-week Basic Fire Police Course (1–26), aimed at strengthening security within the service and protecting firefighters who often face attacks while responding to fire outbreaks.

The Fire Police Unit of the Ghana National Fire Service, established in 1992 to promote discipline and order within the service, selected personnel from all 16 regions for intensive training conducted by the Ghana Armed Forces Military Police.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister for the Interior Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi praised the collaboration between the Military Police and the GNFS, describing it as highly commendable. He also urged the officers to uphold the discipline and values instilled in them throughout the training.

Commanding Officer of the Ghana Military Police, Jacqueline Dela Galley, said the personnel had proven themselves worthy of the training and encouraged them to carry out their responsibilities diligently while upholding the image and standards of the GNFS.
