Tears and grief filled the air as family, friends, classmates, and loved ones gathered to bid a final farewell to Abigail Opoku, the pregnant woman whose death has been linked to alleged medical negligence at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital.

The emotional burial ceremony saw mourners struggling to hold back tears as they remembered Abigail as a kind, humble, and lively young woman whose sudden death has left many devastated.

Friends and relatives shared painful memories of their time with her, saying her passing has created a huge void in their lives.

Speaking during the funeral, some family members and close friends openly criticised what they described as negligence by health officials at the hospital.

According to them, Abigail could still be alive if she had received prompt medical attention.

“She did not deserve to die this way,” one grieving relative said. “We believe things could have been different if she had been attended to early.”

Some of her classmates also broke down in tears as they paid tribute to her, describing her as loving and respectful.

The family and friends are now demanding justice and a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

They are calling on the Ministry of Health and other relevant authorities to ensure accountability and put measures in place to prevent similar incidents from happening to other expectant mothers.

As Abigail Opoku was finally laid to rest, her loved ones said they remain determined to pursue justice in her memory.
