The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a clarification on its ongoing dues payment exercise ahead of the party’s internal elections, cautioning members against relying on unverified claims circulating on social media.
In a statement, the party expressed appreciation to members across the country for actively participating in the dues payment drive, describing the response as a reflection of the strength and unity of the party.
The NDC also acknowledged individuals and stakeholders who have supported branch executives and members in orphan constituencies by helping to settle outstanding dues arrears.
However, the party said its attention had been drawn to what it described as “fantastic claims” suggesting that dues had been paid on behalf of various groups of members without official verification.
To address the situation, the party stressed that only payments made through its official channels would be recognised and reflected in members’ records.
According to the statement, the approved payment platforms are the party’s official dues portal and the USSD shortcode 92025#.
The party further advised members who believe they may have benefited from any group dues payment arrangement to independently verify their status through the recognised channels, rather than relying on third-party claims.
The NDC also directed any individual or group intending to pay dues for a large number of members to coordinate through liaison officers at the Office of the General Secretary or the Office of the Deputy General Secretary in charge of Administration and Finance to ensure proper documentation and verification.
It reiterated that it remains committed to transparency, orderliness, and inclusiveness in its internal electoral process, and urged members to verify all information before sharing it publicly.
