Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has delivered a rousing message of encouragement to the Black Starlets ahead of their participation in the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The Ghana U-17 side will compete in Group D against Algeria, South Africa and Senegal when the tournament kicks off later this month.

Speaking to the squad before their departure to Rabat on Wednesday, Okraku reminded the young players of the responsibility they carry as national representatives and urged them to play without fear.

“You are carrying the hopes of millions of Ghanaians,” he said.

“When you step onto that pitch, remember that you are not alone—an entire nation stands behind you,” Okraku added.

The Black Starlets have since arrived in Rabat, where they will continue their final preparations ahead of the competition.

The tournament begins on May 13, 2026, with Ghana opening their campaign a day later against Algeria in what is expected to be a challenging Group D fixture.
