Veteran Ghanaian rapper Tinny has declared musician-turned-evangelist Lord Kenya as the unmatched king of Ghanaian rap history.

Addressing questions about the evolution and current state of Ghana’s music industry, the “Aletse” hitmaker did not hesitate when asked who stands at the top of the hierarchy.

For Tinny, Lord Kenya represents the total package that few in the industry’s history can rival, especially in style, lyrics and stagecraft.

Tinny said Lord Kenya’s dominance was not based on one specific skill, but rather a rare combination of essential qualities.

“He gets the style, stagecraft, lyrics and everything,” Tinny said in an interview on Hot FM, stressing that Lord Kenya’s all-round artistry set a benchmark that still stands today.

Lord Kenya, who dominated the music scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s before transitioning into ministry, remains one of the most decorated rappers in the country’s history.

Tinny’s endorsement adds significant weight to Lord Kenya’s legacy, especially coming from a peer who is also regarded as a pioneer of Ga rap and a heavyweight in the industry.

As discussions about the state of the music industry continue, Tinny’s comments serve as a reminder of the high standards of performance and creativity set by legends of the Hiplife era.
