Former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been honoured with the Asantehene’s Gold Award (Pillar of Peace) by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The recognition, according to Dr Bawumia, underscores a shared commitment to promoting unity, stability, and inclusive development in Ghana.
In a post shared on his social media page, he expressed gratitude to the Asantehene for the honour, describing it as a significant gesture.
“It was a great pleasure to be honoured by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with the Asantehene’s Gold Award (Pillar of Peace). This gesture highlights a shared commitment to unity, stability, and inclusive development in Ghana,” he stated.
Dr Bawumia further indicated that the recognition will inspire him to continue contributing to peace and national development.
“I remain appreciative to Otumfuo and continue to dedicate myself to fostering peace and progress in Ghana,” he added.
The award is one of the honours conferred by the Asantehene on individuals who have demonstrated commitment to peacebuilding and national cohesion.
