President John Dramani Mahama has expressed confidence that the ongoing dualisation of the Kasoa–Winneba to Mankessim highway will open up the area to investment and create jobs for young people.

The President made the remarks after inspecting progress of work along the corridor. His tour took him to Gomoa Budunuram, where he examined an underpass, before continuing to Awutu Bereku.

Speaking to the media, he said the project would play a key role in boosting economic activity in the region.

“This project will bring more investors into the region and create jobs for the unemployed youth,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, commended the contractor, NagFairmont Construction Company, for the quality of work done so far.

He expressed optimism that the project could be completed ahead of schedule.

“We are impressed with the progress of work and believe the project can be completed by the end of the year,” he said.

The Kasoa–Winneba highway remains a critical route linking Accra to the Central Region and beyond, with its expansion expected to ease traffic congestion and improve travel efficiency.
