The Ghana Tourism Authority has commenced an inspection and licence renewal exercise targeting food, beverage and entertainment enterprises across the Greater Accra Region.
The exercise, which began on Monday, April 20, 2026, forms part of efforts to ensure that facilities comply with required public health, safety and operational standards while protecting the wellbeing of patrons.
According to the Authority, the inspection will cover a wide range of establishments, including chop bars, food vendors, drinking bars, pubs, fast food outlets, snack bars and outdoor catering services.
Operators have been urged to cooperate fully with officials conducting the exercise, noting that all inspectors will carry valid identification cards for verification.
The Authority also advised business owners to ensure that their licences and other relevant operational documents are up to date to avoid sanctions.
Additionally, it reiterated that ongoing regulatory efforts to improve standards and promote professionalism within Ghana’s hospitality and tourism sector will be strictly enforced.
