General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, has emphasized that every Ghanaian has the right to register as a member of the party.
Speaking during an update on the NPP’s ongoing membership registration exercise, Kodua addressed concerns that the online registration portal might allow non-supporters to sign up.
He clarified that the party does not restrict any citizen from joining, stressing that membership is open to all.
“We have heard claims that when we open our online membership registration portal, opponents or non-NPP supporters might also register. I am here to clarify that every Ghanaian has the right to register and become a member of NPP,” he said.
Kodua even suggested that the National Chairman of the opposition, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, could join if he wished.
“So even if Chairman Asiedu Nketia wants to register and become a member of NPP because he has realized his government is not performing and has disappointed many Ghanaians, he is allowed—just like any disciplined Ghanaian—because he has seen that NPP is the light,” he stated.
The NPP’s ongoing exercise aims to expand the party’s membership base across the country.
