The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has extended warm greetings and blessings to the Muslim Ummah as Ramadan begins.

In a message to mark the commencement of Ramadan on February 18, 2026, the minister described the holy month as a profound journey of faith, sacrifice, and renewal. He noted that Ramadan serves as a reminder of the enduring values of humility, prayer, fasting, charity, and reconciliation.

According to him, the spiritual disciplines observed during the period not only strengthen the faithful’s relationship with Allah but also inspire them to live as responsible citizens committed to peace, unity, and the common good.

He urged members of the Muslim community to allow the sacred observance to deepen their collective resolve to build a society anchored on mutual respect, integrity, and shared responsibility.

The minister concluded by praying that Allah accepts the prayers and sacrifices of the faithful during the holy month and guides them along the right path.
