Posting on Facebook about the encounter, Prof. Gyampo described the visit as “very personal and private” and “a humbling occasion” with the King, whom he lauded as “wise” and deeply knowledgeable about national affairs.

He noted with surprise and appreciation that Otumfuo indicated he had been following his work closely, a gesture the CEO said reaffirmed the monarch’s keen interest in Ghana’s development agenda.

Prof. Gyampo said Otumfuo pledged his support in helping the Authority mobilize the needed funding to complete Phase One of the Boankra project, a critical milestone for Ghana’s transport and logistics ecosystem.

The Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal, also known as the Boankra Inland Port, has been highlighted by stakeholders as a key infrastructure initiative that can unlock economic opportunities by improving cargo movement between the country’s coastal ports and inland trade corridors.

Recent updates indicate that Phase One of the project is significantly advanced, with completion levels reported at over 80%.

As CEO of the GSA, Prof. Gyampo has consistently championed the project’s timely delivery, underlining its potential to expand Ghana’s export capacity and enhance its position as a major logistics hub in West Africa.
