
The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died after a short illness.
He passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Mr. Toure was serving his fourth term in Parliament and played key roles on several parliamentary committees.

He was the Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and also served on the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, as well as the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Confirming the development, the Second Deputy Majority Whip, Richard Acheampong, said the late legislator would be laid to rest today at his residence in Nima, Accra, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
