Government has dismissed allegations by the Minority in Parliament that the Ministry of Education inflated the cost of sanitary pads procured for schoolgirls.

Addressing Parliament, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Clement Abas Apaak refuted the Minority’s claim that government purchased a pack of sanitary pads at GHS 45.

He clarified that the pads were procured at prices ranging between GHS 19 and GHS 24 per pack, depending on the supplier’s location and the region where the items were delivered.

Dr. Apaak insisted that the allegations of inflated pricing were misleading and urged the public to disregard them, describing the claims as unfounded and deserving of “the contempt they merit.”
