Police have taken control of the Kasoa Ofaakor Chief’s Palace following an alleged attempt by some individuals to unlawfully install a new chief for the Kwashie Abbey community.
Two suspects have been arrested, and a pump-action gun was retrieved from the scene.
In an interview with Adom News, the Asafo Supi of Odupong Ofaakor, Asafo Supi Onipa Nka, revealed that the suspects, believed to be land guards, secretly entered the palace to carry out the illegal installation before security forces intervened.

“The intruders came to the palace to install someone as chief without approval. We managed to stop them and handed two of them over to the police,” Asafo Supi Onipa Nka said.
He appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohunu, and the Minister for the Interior to take swift action to restore calm in the area.
According to him, the tension could escalate if authorities fail to intervene promptly.
Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and have urged residents to remain calm as efforts continue to maintain peace and order in Kasoa Ofaakor.
