Bechem United have appointed experienced coach Kobina Amissah to steady the ship following a difficult start to their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
Amissah takes over from Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway, who was relieved of his duties after a poor run of results left the club in 16th place. The Hunters have managed just one win in eight league matches, alongside three draws and four defeats.
“The wait is over! The experienced gaffer KOBINA AMISSAH is now officially at the helm as our Head Coach!” the club announced in a statement. “Let’s welcome him and get ready for an exciting journey ahead.”
Amissah brings a wealth of experience in Ghanaian domestic football, having previously managed clubs including Home Stars, Bibiani Gold Stars, Samartex, Nzema Kotoko, Elmina Sharks, Berekum Chelsea, Sekondi Hasaacas, and New Edubiase United.
Renowned as a promotion specialist, he has guided four clubs from the Division One League to the Premier League: Berekum Chelsea in 2009, Sekondi Hasaacas in 2013, Elmina Sharks in 2016, and Bibiani Gold Stars in 2021.
His first assignment with Bechem United comes in Week 9 this Sunday, November 9, when the Hunters face Young Apostles.
