The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all basic schools nationwide will observe a mid-term break from Friday, October 31, to Monday, November 3, 2025.
In a statement issued by GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi, the service noted that there will be no classes for both teachers and pupils on these days, which are already reflected in the academic calendar.
“Basic schools will, for the first time, observe a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, as already captured on the academic calendar,” the statement said.
GES explained that the short break is intended to give teachers and pupils time to rest and recharge for the remainder of the term.
The directive applies to all public and private basic schools operating under the Ghana Education Service.
