The Department of Development and Social Services (DSS) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has, at its 6th national consultation, outlined strategic plans to enhance its visibility, integrate its educational institutions, and document the church’s rich history as part of its bicentenary celebration.
Held at the Presbyterian Women Centre in Abokobi from October 6th to 10th, 2025, the consultation was under the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid.”
It focused on the PCG’s social mission to modernise the outreach of the DSS with a resolve to strengthen their visibility by leveraging strategic digital and communication tools.
Participants stressed the use of new media skills to effectively showcase the impact of the DSS and its developmental work to a broader audience.
It was recommended that related faculties from Presbyterian University units should be linked directly with Presbyterian Health Training Institutions to improve personnel posting and foster collaborations while creating clear professional pathways for staff and students.
As part of the bicentenary celebration, the forum concluded that all church facilities and institutions should actively document their unique heritage to showcase the contribution of each institution to the church’s historical journey and impact on national development.
