NPP Council of Elders cautions presidential aspirants to uphold discipline and unity ahead of primaries

The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Ad Hoc Committee, set up to oversee the conduct of the party’s presidential campaigns, has officially commenced work.

In a statement issued on October 9, 2025, the Council said the Committee has begun monitoring the comments, actions, and public engagements of all aspirants and their campaign teams to ensure a peaceful, respectful, and issue-based campaign consistent with the NPP’s values.

The Council urged party members, supporters, and the general public to report any offensive, divisive, or inflammatory remarks or actions made by candidates or their representatives.

Such reports should be supported with credible evidence and submitted to the Committee either in writing or via phone or WhatsApp.

It further reminded aspirants to be measured in their public statements and conduct, stressing that party unity and cohesion are crucial before, during, and after the presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.

“The Party’s unity remains paramount. Let us all work together in the spirit of discipline, respect, and solidarity to ensure a peaceful and united NPP ready for victory in 2028,” the statement added.
