Bibiani GoldStars and Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in continental football this weekend as the 2025/26 CAF interclub competitions kick off.
GoldStars, last season’s historic Ghana Premier League champions, are making their maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League. Led by coach Frimpong Manso, they open their campaign against Algerian giants JS Kabylie on Saturday, September 20, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:00 GMT.

The return leg is scheduled for Friday, September 26. The aggregate winner will face either Sierra Leone’s East End Lions or Tunisian side US Monastir in the second preliminary round.
Asante Kotoko, winners of the MTN FA Cup after edging Golden Kick FC in the final, will contest the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors begin their journey against Nigeria’s Kwara United, hosting the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 21, before travelling to Abuja for the reverse fixture at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium on September 28.
A win will set up a second-round clash with Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club.
Both clubs have undergone intensive preparations and are determined to make a strong impact, as Ghana looks to reclaim its place among Africa’s football elite.
