Ayalolo Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) CEO, Nana Bugyei, has alleged that he and his staff were forcefully evicted from the Tudu and Adenta terminals on December 9, 2024, and have since been denied access, despite holding valid contracts.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Nana Bugyei claimed that thugs believed to be aligned with the NDC stormed the terminals after the elections and drove away his workers.
He added that police intervention proved futile, and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) later claimed ownership of the facilities.
Nana Bugyei further disclosed that the Ministry of Transport recently threatened to terminate his contract for failing to submit accounts, a demand he insists is unfair given the takeover of the terminals.
“My contracts for both the Adenta and Tudu terminals remain valid, and I report to the Ministry of Transport. Not more than a month ago, the ministry wrote to me stating I should submit my accounts, or my contract would be canceled by August 15. I responded, explaining that after the December 9 elections, NDC supporters came to my office while I was away, drove my workers away, and took over the terminal,” he said.
He continued: “I involved the police, but they could not intervene. Later, I learned that the AMA is claiming ownership of the location. I still hold valid contracts for both Adenta and Tudu.”
