Hearts of Oak have moved to reassure supporters following FIFA’s decision to impose a three-window transfer ban on the club over an unsettled debt owed to former Technical Director, René Hiddink.

In a letter dated August 21, 2025, from FIFA’s Legal and Compliance Division, the world governing body confirmed that the Phobians are prohibited from registering new players both domestically and internationally until the debt is cleared.

The Ghana Football Association has been directed to enforce the sanction.

Responding to the development, the Accra giants released an official statement on August 22, acknowledging FIFA’s ruling while pledging swift action.

“FIFA has confirmed the implementation of a registration ban on the club due to unresolved financial obligations. We acknowledge the seriousness of this development and wish to assure our supporters that the Management and Board are actively engaging all relevant parties, including the Ghana Football Association and FIFA, to resolve the matter swiftly and responsibly.”

The club stressed that all player registrations for the upcoming campaign had already been completed before the ban, ensuring no immediate impact on the squad.

Hearts also appealed to their fanbase to remain calm, united, and supportive as efforts continue to resolve the issue.
