The widow of the late Squadron Leader Peter Anala was overcome with emotion during a solemn flower-laying ceremony at Jubilee House on Monday.
Dressed in black, she was comforted by a relative as she stood alongside other family members at the Ceremonial Garden.
The event, which began last Thursday, was part of ongoing tributes to Mr. Anala, one of the eight victims of the August 6, 2025, military helicopter crash.
The crash claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; Environment, Science and Technology Minister Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed — also Member of Parliament for Tamale Central; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna; and Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Other victims included Samuel Aboagye, parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East in the 2024 election and Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO); Flying Officer Manaen Twum-Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo-Mensah.
Dr. Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Limuna were laid to rest on Sunday, August 10, in accordance with Islamic rites and tradition.
A state burial for the remaining six victims is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025.
