
Residents of Tolomedzi, a fishing community in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, are living in fear following an invasion of hippopotamuses from the shores of River Nanum, a tributary of the River Oti.
Speaking to Adom News, community members recounted their alarming encounters with the animals.
They revealed that the hippopotamuses often emerge from the river, posing serious threats to their daily activities.
The residents fear for their safety and worry about the impact on their livelihoods, which depend heavily on fishing and farming.
