Ghana forward Francis Abu has sealed a move to French Ligue 1 club Toulouse in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old joins from Belgian side Cercle Brugge on a four-year deal reportedly worth €2.5 million.

Speaking to the club’s media team after the announcement, Abu expressed his excitement about the new chapter in his career.

“I’m very happy to be here,” Abu told the club’s media.

“I can’t wait to start this new challenge and join this wonderful family. I’m also looking forward to discovering the Pink City and meeting all the club’s incredible supporters,” he added.

Abu made a total of 100 appearances for Cercle Brugge, scoring three goals and registering seven assists during his time in the Belgian Pro League.

He was a subject of interest from several clubs, including Turkish sides Başakşehir FK and Trabzonspor, as well as Burnley, Torino, and Genoa.

However, Toulouse emerged as the successful suitor for the Ghana international.

A product of Ghana’s Right to Dream Academy, Abu began his professional career in Europe with Danish outfit FC Nordsjælland before making the move to Belgium.

He has been capped six times by the Black Stars since making his international debut in 2024.
