New GJA-Volta leadership sworn in, commits to promoting inclusivity and development

The inducted officers include, Dr. Harrison Kofi Belley – Chairman, Ms. Ivy Priscilla Setordjie – Vice Chairperson, Mr. Lambert Kofi Atsivor – Secretary, and Mr. King Freeman Nutsukpoe – Treasurer.

The newly elected Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Volta Region were officially sworn into office at a brief yet symbolic ceremony held at the Ho High Court Complex on Friday, July 11, 2025.

The event saw the administration of oaths of office and allegiance to the new executives by His Honour Osman Abdul Hakeem, Esq., representing the Supervising High Court Judge, His Lordship Justice John Ekow Mensah.

The inducted officers include, Dr. Harrison Kofi Belley – Chairman, Ms. Ivy Priscilla Setordjie – Vice Chairperson, Mr. Lambert Kofi Atsivor – Secretary, and Mr. King Freeman Nutsukpoe – Treasurer.

Nana Kwabena Ntow, the GJA Chairman for the Oti Region, was also sworn in as the sole elected officer for the region. Present were some members of the association and media practitioners
from Ho.

In his brief remarks, Regional Chairman, Dr. Belley emphasised the importance of unity within the media fraternity and outlined key initiatives such as the completion of the Volta Press Centre Phase II project and the revamping of the Regional Awards scheme, as priorities for his administration.

He reaffirmed the leadership’s dedication to improving communication, increasing regional
visibility, and ensuring national recognition.

He therefore called on all media practitioners and stakeholders to support new GJA-Volta administration in fostering a resilient and influential media landscape.
