Two friends nabbed for alleged goat theft in Chogu

Two young men from Damongo, identified as Nafiwu Bakar and Yusif—both believed to be in their 20s—have been arrested by the youth of Chogu in the Savannah Region for allegedly stealing goats.

The suspects were reportedly transporting the stolen animals to Damongo when they were apprehended.

They were tied to a concrete pole at the Chogu chief’s palace before being handed over to local authorities.

During interrogation, the duo allegedly admitted to stealing goats in the area for about a month.

Meanwhile, some residents of Damongo have expressed frustration over the suspects’ alleged repeated criminal activities, describing them as notorious for theft and scams within the community.
