Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) has threatened to initiate legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The Director of Support Services, Dr. Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, disclosed this in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.
This follows a simultaneous raid on SML’s offices in Osu and Tema and what the company describes as a Rambo-style arrest of four employees and assault on others.
The OSP’s widely condemned operation took place on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
The company said key assets were seized during the operation, including servers, proprietary documents, gold analysers, and other technical equipment—many still under development and vital to their work with the GRA.
In light of this development, Dr. Sarpong stated she would be surprised if no legal action is taken, considering the losses caused to the company.
She said the following during the interview:
“If you do something like this, it will be surprising for you to think no legal action will be taken against you because this is a destruction of private property.
They took gold analysers, upstream equipment and others that do not belong to the government, so we are not even the people supposed to announce this. We will definitely go to court.”
In an earlier statement, SML indicated that it has, since March 2025, cooperated with the OSP regarding an ongoing probe, following a request.
The company added that it submitted all requested documentation within its contractual obligations on non-disclosure and confidentiality on 27th March 2025 and has remained available to respond to further enquiries.
Dr. Sarpong noted the raid, therefore, came as a surprise to them.
